LOS BASTARDOS, "I WiSH MY WiFE WAS AS DiRTY AS MY CAR"

Eran auténticos shows de rock animal y visceral.

ViERNES Di VERSiON - Home of the Blues

Broken Hearted on Valentines Day aparecía en 1988 de la mano de Symphaty for the Record Industry.

Just around the corner there's heartache
Down the street that users use
If you can wade in through the teardrops
You'll find me at the home the blues

I walk and cry while my heartbeat
keeps time with the drag of my shoes
The sun never shines through this window of mine
It's dark at the home of the blues

Oh but the place is filled with the sweetest mem'ries
Mem'ries so sweet that I cry
Dreams that I had left me feeling so bad
I just want to give up and lay down and die

So if you've just lost your sweetheart
And it seems there's no good way to choose
Come along with me, misery loves company
You're welcome at the home the blues

Just around the corner there's heartache
Down the streets that losers use
If you can wade in through the teardrops
You'll find me at the home of the blues
Yeah, you're gonna find me at the home of the blues

MOSTROS

THE FOUR SLiCKS

I’m from San Francisco, but I moved to Paris, France 10 years ago. I play guitar in the Four Slicks, a garage-punk-rockabilly band, with three French guys (Pat, Charlie and Mark). We're all crazy about rock n roll, cars (customs, hot rods, etc.), and have greasy hair. One day on band tour in France, in Charlie's 1959 Simca Ariane sedan, we were talking about how it would be great for someone in the band to have a car better adapted for touring. (Mark’s 1950 Ford, my 1967 Peugeot, Pat’s 1965 Buick and Charlie’s 1956 Dodge don’t qualify.) It would have to be an American car, late 50’s or early 60’s. Economical, reliable, but with a decent amount of power and space to haul musical equipment. I said, “That would have to be a Ford Falcon wagon with a V-8.”
Starting at that moment, I cooked up a crazy plan, a
nd then made it work:
1. buy a car in California
2. fix it up

3. go on vacation with it in California with my wife Eve

4. leave it in the driveway of my friends RJ & Leesa in LA and go home to Paris

5. return to LA with the band

6. go on band tour from Califo
rnia to New York
7. put the car on a boat to France

8. keep it in Paris as my personal car and for band use

I am proud to say that it all happened. The 1963 Falcon Deluxe 4-door wagon is now registered in France and rolls on a weekly basis. (Nobody in their right mind drives daily in Paris.) I met the guys at the Los Angeles airport with the Falcon. Mark painted "NY or Bust" on the car, and we got on the road for two days straight, with an obligatory stop at the Bonneville Salt Flats. During the tour, we had only one major problem: the generator caught fire and we lost most of a day in Sacramento California fixing it. Otherwise, we went 8,500 kilometers in just over 2 weeks. Out plan is to take the Falcon to Spain for the upcoming tour. In June, I started changing several parts in the engine to prepare it for the tour, but due to some problems I encountered, I am not sure that I can get the motor running in time! My friends and I will be working hard in September to try to get it fixed and back on the road.

Sock it To Me Santa

Sirva el tema de Bob Seger & The Last Heard para retomar esto donde lo dejamos:

[Talking intro:]
You know what pop? What's that son?
Christmas just isn't gonna be the same this year.
Why is that?

Cause Santa's got a brand new bag!

Come on jump up, ohhhh
Sock it to me Santa, you know what I like
Sock it to me Santa, just bring me a bike
Christmas just won't be a drag, Santa's got a brand new bag

Don't you dare let those children bring you down
You gotta spread those toys all over town
My stocking's all hung so you can see
Don't hang me up Santa lay some toys on me
Sock it to me Santa you know where it's at
Sock it to me Santa I want a baseball bat
Christmas just won't be a drag, cause Santa's got a brand new bag
I say come on Dancer, come on Prancer
A brand new Santa's got to be the answer
Come on Comet, and come on Cupid
Don't just stand there lookin' stupid

He's got a bright red cape and a white moustache (sock it to me Santa)
He's got lots of toys but no time for trash (sock it to me Santa)
He's dressed real warm from his head to his toes (sock it to me Santa)
He lost a little weight but his jelly still rolls (sock it to me Santa)
Sock it to me Santa, you heard what I said
Sock it to me Santa, just bring me a sled
Christmas just won't be a drag, cause Santa's got a brand new bag

Sock it to me Santa
Sock it to me Santa

Altamente recomendable la versión de los LAZY COWGIRLS y la de KING SALAMI AND THE CUMBERLAND 3.

THE ZEROS - ViViENDO EL MOMENTO

Peñalosa: “All of these shows have been sold out and enthusiastically received. Kids (who were not born when these songs were written) know all the words and are singing along to our songs. We have seen old punks and young punks and a number of long lost friends at our shows. That has been a big treat for me. We are really grateful for everything that has happened recently. We weren’t really planning on doing more than three or four shows, but we have decided that while there is a demand we will deliver.”
